Our Story
The modern Beam Rust Proofing has a long and established history in Perth. First opening its doors on the 1st September 1928 as the “Beam Service Station” on Wellington Street (opposite Queen St) in the heart of Perth City with traditional service station offering plus rust and dust proofing, a car wash and 24/7 parking.
A Legacy Spanning Generations
Over the decades, the Beam business has operated from various locations across Perth, including multiple workshops in the CBD and surrounding suburbs. Each move reflected the growing demand for rust protection and the need for larger or more accessible premises.
Throughout this time, the business remained focused on a single core purpose: helping vehicle owners protect their cars, trucks, and machinery from corrosion caused by exposure to the elements. What began as a small local workshop has evolved into a well-regarded, family-run operation known for its continuity, reliability, and practical expertise.
Today in Belmont
Beam Rust Proofing now operates from its permanent facility in Belmont. This site brings together years of experience, modern application methods, and a practical workshop layout designed to handle everything from daily driver vehicles to large-scale fleet, trade and mining work.
Then and Now
While the equipment and techniques have evolved since the 1920s, the underlying goal has not changed: to offer effective, long-lasting rust protection tailored to WA conditions.
Beam continues to use a mix of proven products and up-to-date technology, informed by decades of practical know-how and feedback from generations of local customers.
