Beam values your privacy
Beam Rustproofing (“Beam”) considers the protection of your privacy to be of the utmost importance. This Privacy Statement sets out how we collect, use and look after your personal information.
Reasons for collecting information
Beam only collects the information we need to do business with you. You will always know what information is being collected, and you can choose how Beam uses it to communicate with you. We only collect information by lawful and fair means, and not in an intrusive way. Beam and its service providers only use the personal or business information you supply to:
- provide our products and services, and good customer service;
- process payments for work and products you order;
- operate our business as it relates to you;
- keep you informed about Beam products and services, and those of related businesses; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We may share aggregated data that identifies no particular person or business with our business partners, for example general trends in the vehicles we treat.
How we use your information
Beam uses the information you supply for quotes and bookings, carrying out and registering the work we do, order fulfilment, customer support, and secure access to our website.
Product promotion
Beam may contact you about warranty inspections and services, new products, and special offers. You can tell us at any time that you do not want to receive marketing from Beam, and we will stop.
Order fulfilment
When you order products or services, we need your contact details and payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; Beam does not store your full card number. We use your details to complete your order and bill you, and to contact you if there is a problem with your order.
Product registration
When we carry out rustproofing work, we register it with Endrust Australia, our related company, at Endrust Perth. Endrust issues your registration number and Certificate of Application, and sends your annual service reminders. To do this we pass on your name, contact details, vehicle details and the treatments applied. Endrust uses these details only to support your treatment and warranty. You can unsubscribe from service reminders at any time using the link in the reminder email.
Beam website access
Your information gives you secure access to services on our website, so that you, and only you, can update your details and manage your bookings. Our website may link to other websites that are beyond Beam’s control, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Personal information submitted to Beam is protected both online and offline. Access to your personal and business information is restricted to the staff who need it to do their job.
Emails we send
Emails from our website and workshop system, such as quote confirmations, booking details and replies to enquiries, are sent through our Microsoft 365 email service, with a Google Gmail account used as a backup. Some of these emails include a small image that tells us whether the email was opened. We use this only to check that our emails are being received, not for advertising. You can prevent it by turning off automatic image loading in your email program.
Website analytics and cookies
Beam uses website analytics, including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, to understand how our website is used, to keep it running well, and to gather general information about visitor trends. Our website also uses cookies so that pages such as bookings and checkout work correctly. Cookies contain only coded information and cannot be used by others to access your confidential information. You can turn cookies off in your browser, but some parts of the website may not work without them.
Accountability and legislative compliance
Beam makes sure its staff understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy through our procedures and training, and we take appropriate action if privacy responsibilities are not met. Where Beam uses outside service providers, we require them to protect your information in line with this Privacy Statement.
This Privacy Statement has been prepared in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or update it, at any time. If you have a question, or believe Beam has not followed this Privacy Statement, please contact us. We will look into it promptly and take any action needed to fix the problem.
Changes to this Privacy Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. The current version will always be on the Beam website, and you can ask us for a copy at any time.
