Denso Taping for Rust and Corrosion Control
At our Belmont workshop we hand-wrap Denso Tape around the parts of your vehicle that sprays and waxes can’t fully protect: fittings, connectors, exposed threads and adjusters.
Denso Tape (Denso Densyl Tape) is a heavy-duty, petrolatum-based wrapping tape. It’s a flexible non-woven fabric soaked in a protective petrolatum compound, so it moulds tightly around odd shapes and seals out moisture, salt and mud. It’s solvent-free and stays flexible, which makes it ideal for vehicles that work on the coast, off-road, on mine sites or around salt water.
Where We Use Denso Tape
- Electrical connectors, plugs and joins
- Brake, clutch and transmission line fittings
- Fuel lines and fuel injector fittings
- Hydraulic and power steering connections
- Air and pneumatic line fittings
- Tie rod ends and exposed steering adjustment threads
- Park brake cables and adjusters
- Torsion bar, radius rod and suspension adjustment threads
- Shock absorber top mount threads
We clean off loose rust and dirt first, then wrap each part with enough overlap to leave no gaps. We never tape anything in a way that stops it moving, gets in the way of servicing or hides something that needs inspecting. The tape is rated to 70°C, so we keep it clear of exhausts and other hot spots.
